Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 0.98% or 0.0260 points to trade at 2.6750 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 0.78% or 0.0460 points to end at 5.9200 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.50% or 0.0010 points to 0.2020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.26% or 0.0258 points to trade at 1.1142 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.59% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.8680 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.55% or 0.0600 points to 3.8040.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.03% or 0.57 to $54.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.94% or 0.50 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.75 to trade at $1132.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.0426, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.8448.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 103.05.
