Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 2.52% or 0.170 points to trade at 6.920 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.02% or 0.0190 points to end at 1.8890 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 0.97% or 0.0120 points to 1.2490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 2.29% or 0.2650 points to trade at 11.2950 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.99% or 0.0210 points to end at 1.0320 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 1.47% or 0.0020 points to 0.1340.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 18 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 1.40% or 0.54 to $38.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.36% or 0.50 to hit $36.29 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.44% or 5.40 to trade at $1218.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.7982.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.51.
