Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 2.41% or 0.180 points to trade at 7.641 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.81% or 0.2200 points to end at 12.4000 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 1.72% or 0.1850 points to 10.9200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.94% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1650 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 1.88% or 0.1110 points to end at 5.7790 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.74% or 0.1300 points to 7.3200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 32 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 3.92% or 1.64 to $43.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.13% or 1.63 to hit $41.14 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.58% or 7.95 to trade at $1364.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1150, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 95.49.
