Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 1.52% or 0.0420 points to trade at 2.8030 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.23% or 0.150 points to end at 12.365 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.35% or 0.0190 points to 5.4400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 1.64% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.9620 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.49% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.3300 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 1.24% or 0.1700 points to 13.5150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 2.27% or 1.12 to $48.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.43% or 1.14 to hit $45.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 7.02 to trade at $1252.52 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1666, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 93.78.
