Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 3.64% or 0.240 points to trade at 6.840 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.51% or 0.0270 points to end at 1.8100 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.40% or 0.1650 points to 11.9400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 5.59% or 0.1770 points to trade at 2.9900 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 1.39% or 0.008 points to end at 0.569 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 1.36% or 0.0910 points to 6.6220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 31 to 18 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.66% or 1.27 to $49.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.20% or 1.48 to hit $47.69 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.33% or 4.15 to trade at $1276.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1330, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7863.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.46.
