Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.83% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 1.46% or 0.0150 points to trade at 1.0400 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.27% or 0.0330 points to end at 2.6310 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.52% or 0.0750 points to 14.5000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 9.44% or 0.0017 points to trade at 0.0163 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 8.72% or 0.1470 points to end at 1.5380 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 7.48% or 0.0190 points to 0.2350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 38 to 8 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.70% or 0.79 to $45.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.19% or 0.96 to hit $42.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.49% or 6.45 to trade at $1311.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1158, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8528.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.00.
