Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 3.47% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which rose 10.90% or 0.0057 points to trade at 0.0580 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 7.73% or 0.1430 points to end at 1.9930 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was up 7.46% or 0.0200 points to 0.2880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 0.58% or 0.0060 points to trade at 1.0390 at the close. REN (LISBON:RENE) added 0.98% or 0.0270 points to end at 2.7770 and Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) was up 1.15% or 0.0850 points to 7.4590.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 43 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.96% or 1.43 to $49.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.53% or 1.15 to hit $46.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.30 to trade at $1133.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1179, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.7382.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 96.28.
