Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 4.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 1.76% or 0.0860 points to trade at 4.9600 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) fell 0.45% or 0.0450 points to end at 9.9270 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 2.37% or 0.3150 points to 12.9600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 10.71% or 0.0003 points to trade at 0.0025 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 9.49% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.0477 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 8.91% or 0.1000 points to 1.0220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 47 to 7.
Shares in Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.76% or 0.0860 to 4.9600.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.60% or 0.29 to $47.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.17% or 0.52 to hit $43.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1088.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.0757, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.7117.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 99.09.
