Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 3.73% or 0.0055 points to trade at 0.1530 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 3.61% or 0.0910 points to end at 2.6120 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 2.86% or 0.870 points to 31.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which lost 1.87% or 51.0 points to trade at 2670.0 in late trade. Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) declined 1.45% or 180.0 points to end at 12260.0 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) shed 1.28% or 36.5 points to 2806.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 84 and 26 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.23% to 28.710.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.35% or 4.65 to $1345.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.56% or 0.24 to hit $42.78 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.34 to trade at $45.05 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.16% to 64.7325, while EUR/RUB rose 0.38% to 71.909.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.12.
