Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 3.73% or 0.435 points to trade at 12.105 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 2.42% or 0.131 points to end at 5.555 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 2.19% or 0.740 points to 34.475 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG), which lost 1.43% or 0.066 points to trade at 4.559 in late trade. Banco Popular (MC:POP) declined 0.92% or 0.010 points to end at 1.083 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 0.66% or 0.070 points to 10.530.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 57 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.09% or 1.15 to $1322.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.44% or 1.15 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.23% or 1.10 to trade at $50.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1245, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8654.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.28.
