Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 2.05% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 6.77% or 0.094 points to trade at 1.482 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 5.04% or 0.419 points to end at 8.732 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 3.65% or 0.405 points to 11.485 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viscofan (MC:VIS), which lost 1.70% or 0.840 points to trade at 48.585 in late trade. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.17% or 0.035 points to end at 20.060 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) shed 0.02% or 0.005 points to 23.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 45 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.54% or 6.75 to $1247.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $53.89 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $56.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0566, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8582.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 101.60.
