Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Information Technology and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which rose 22.52% or 13.60 points to trade at 74.00 at the close. Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) added 16.78% or 71.40 points to end at 497.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO), which lost 16.94% or 253.90 points to trade at 1245.00 in late trade. Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) declined 9.55% or 7.00 points to end at 66.30 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) shed 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 83 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.46% or 0.23 to $49.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.51% or 0.26 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1244.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 210.645, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 145.680.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 93.82.
