Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Investment Trust and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.80% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM), which rose 14.89% or 3.50 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) added 13.33% or 80.00 points to end at 680.00 and Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) was up 12.58% or 1.90 points to 17.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alliance Finance Company PLC (CM:ALLI), which lost 91.02% or 709.48 points to trade at 70.00 in late trade. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 12.50% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.7000 and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) shed 11.59% or 1.60 points to 12.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 36 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.94% or 0.90 to $47.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.92% or 0.90 to hit $47.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.52% or 6.30 to trade at $1215.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.12% to 183.910, while USD/LKR rose 0.24% to 148.925.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 101.05.
