Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Information Technology and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 28.57% or 0.200 points to end at 0.900 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) was up 25.00% or 0.10 points to 0.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA), which fell 11.04% or 13.90 points to trade at 112.00 at the close. Mahaweli Reach Hotel PLC (CM:MRH) declined 8.33% or 1.90 points to end at 20.90 and Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC (CM:RCL) was down 7.88% or 8.90 points to 104.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 138 to 76 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) rose to all time lows; up 25.00% or 0.10 to 0.40. Shares in Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC (CM:RCL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.88% or 8.90 to 104.00.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.83% or 1.19 to $40.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.70% or 0.76 to hit $43.90 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.80% or 8.60 to trade at $1067.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.11% to 217.360, while USD/LKR rose 0.39% to 143.150.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 99.89.
