Stocks - Lennar, Salesforce Rise in Pre-market; Boeing Falls

Investing.com - Stocks in focus in premarket trade Wednesday:

  • Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM) inched up 0.3% by 8:10 AM ET (12:15 GMT) even after news that the company was sued by 50 women claiming the company knew about sex trafficking practices on now defunct Backpage.com and helped the site by providing tools to help market prostitutes.

  • WellCare Health (NYSE:WCG) jumped 12.5% after news that Centene (NYSE:CNC) is acquiring it in a $17.3 billion deal.

  • Novartis (NYSE:NVS) fell 0.5% in spite of news that the Federal Drug Administration approved its drug treatment for relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis.

  • Lennar (NYSE:LEN) rose 2.5% after the homebuilder's first-quarter earnings per share came in higher than expected. The company forecasts the housing market will improve over the next year as interest in new home sales rises.

  • Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) stock fell 0.3% after reports that it has created a partnership with Volkswagen (DE:VOWG_p) to offer cloud-based services to the automotive industry.

  • McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) stock lost 0.3% as the company said it would stop lobbying against a minimum wage hike.

  • Boeing (NYSE:BA) stock slipped 0.1% after Citi resumed coverage of the company at buy, saying the airplane maker could return to $400 a share or higher if it resolves issues with its 737 Max 8 jet, according to CNBC.
