Investing.com - Canadian equities started mixed on Tuesday. The top risers were Capped Energy, Capped Materials and Renewable Energy and Clean Technology indices. Capped Communication Services, Capped Information Technology and Capped Consumer Staples were the top losers.
At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index rose 0.30%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap were also up. The TSX Venture climbed 0.65%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.88%.
HudBay Minerals (TSX:HBM): Rose 6.12% or 0.67 points to 11.62.
Capstone Mining (TSX:CS): Climbed 5.51% or 0.54 points to 10.34.
Lundin Mining (TSX:LUN): Increased 5.42% or 0.720 points to 14.000.
Storage Vault (TSX:SVI): Declined 1.59% or 0.08 points to 4.94.
Pet Valu Holdings (TSX:PET): Dropped 0.95% or 0.25 points to 26.01.
Bird Construction (TSX:BDT): Fell 0.87% or 0.20 points to 22.70.
In Commodities Trading:
- December Brent Oil Contract increased by 1.93% or 1.41 points to 74.62 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for November delivery climbed 1.51 points to 71.88 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery rose 4.95 points to 2,657.45 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is trying to stay over 1.35.
- EUR/CAD is at 1.50 again.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.500.
