Investing.com - Canadian equities started lower on Tuesday. The top losers at the market open were the Materials, Energy and Consumer Discretionary indices.
At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index fell 1.08%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also dropped. The TSX Venture declined 1.34%, while the Smallcap was down by 2.36%.
- Bausch Health (TSX:BHC): Climbed 4.38% or 0.35 points to 8.34.
- Northwest Healthcare (TSX:NWH_u): Increased 1.38% 0.07 points to 5.14.
- Canada Goose (TSX:GOOS): Rose 2.03% or 0.32 points to 16.08.
- Lundin Mining (TSX:LUN): Dropped 9.16% or 1.280 points to 12.700.
- Capstone Mining (TSX:CS): Fell 9.41% or 0.91 points to 8.76.
- Intl Petroleum (TSX:IPCO): Declined 8.22% or 1.68 points to 18.77.
In Commodities Trading:
- November Brent Oil Contract declined by 4.04% or 3.13 points to 74.39 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for October delivery dropped 2.61 points to 70.94 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery fell 18.95 points to 2,508.65 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD climbed to 1.3546.
- EUR/CAD is stable at 1.49.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 101.572.
