At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index rose 0.41%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture climbed 0.67%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.38%.

- Orla Mining (TSX:OLA): Rose 4.02% or 0.200 points to 5.180
- SSR Mining (NASDAQ:SSRM): Climbed 3.77% or 0.24 points to 6.60
- Sun Life Financial (TSX:SLF): Increased 3.61% or 2.38 points to 68.32
Top Losers:
- CES Energy (TSX:CEU): Dropped 4.20% or 0.330 points to 7.530
- Sienna Senior Living (TSX:SIA): Declined 3.48% or 0.54 points to 14.99
- HudBay Minerals (TSX:HBM): Fell 2.87% or 0.29 points to 9.83
In Commodities Trading:
- Crude Oil for September delivery fell 1.03 points to 79.03 a barrel.
- October Brent Oil Contract declined by 1.25% or 1.03 points to 81.27 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery rose 8.05 points to 2,512.05 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is cruising at 1.37 with a daily range of 1.3724-1.3748.
- EUR/CAD is confident over the 1.50 line.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 102.755.
