Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel (IS:VESTL), which rose 5.34% or 0.360 points to trade at 7.100 at the close. Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN) added 3.41% or 0.170 points to end at 5.150 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was up 3.14% or 0.050 points to 1.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which lost 4.89% or 2.00 points to trade at 38.90 in late trade. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) declined 4.22% or 0.210 points to end at 4.770 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 4.20% or 0.32 points to 7.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 184 to 148 and 77 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.25% or 3.15 to $1243.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.49% or 1.49 to hit $44.13 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.27% or 1.45 to trade at $45.77 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.92% to 2.8176, while EUR/TRY fell 0.52% to 3.1886.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.36.
