Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Metal Products & Machinery and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO), which rose 6.60% or 1.48 points to trade at 23.90 at the close. Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) added 6.57% or 2.26 points to end at 36.64 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 4.69% or 0.91 points to 20.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 2.69% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.810 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 1.94% or 0.020 points to end at 1.010 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) shed 1.86% or 0.180 points to 9.510.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 249 to 87 and 75 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.50% or 6.45 to $1288.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.70% or 1.31 to hit $49.87 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.66% or 1.31 to trade at $50.48 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.97% to 2.8986, while EUR/TRY fell 0.58% to 3.2821.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 93.69.
