Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 4.81% or 0.350 points to trade at 7.630 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) added 3.63% or 0.110 points to end at 3.140 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 3.22% or 0.130 points to 4.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brisa (IS:BRISA), which lost 2.17% or 0.15 points to trade at 6.77 in late trade. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) declined 2.00% or 0.38 points to end at 18.65 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) shed 1.84% or 0.35 points to 18.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 169 to 156 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.39% or 17.95 to $1305.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.09% or 1.44 to hit $45.23 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.10% or 1.49 to trade at $46.65 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 3.1210, while EUR/TRY rose 0.85% to 3.4698.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 97.24.
