Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Sports, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 5.88% or 15.40 points to trade at 277.40 at the close. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) added 5.10% or 0.080 points to end at 1.650 and Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) was up 3.95% or 0.10 points to 2.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which lost 6.42% or 7.60 points to trade at 110.80 in late trade. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 4.27% or 0.14 points to end at 3.14 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) shed 3.02% or 0.35 points to 11.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 191 to 142 and 73 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.14% or 1.75 to $1222.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.18 to trade at $49.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.08% to 2.9344, while EUR/TRY rose 0.15% to 3.2843.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 95.22.
