Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.23%, while the ADX General index gained 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which rose 2.47% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.415 at the close. Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) added 1.19% or 0.030 points to end at 2.560 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 1.16% or 0.005 points to 0.435 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which lost 2.52% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.160 in late trade. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 2.16% or 0.030 points to end at 1.360 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) shed 2.09% or 0.050 points to 2.340.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which rose 15.00% to 3.45, Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was up 15.00% to settle at 2.99 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which gained 6.33% to close at 2.350.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 6.78% to 0.550 in late trade, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which lost 1.75% to settle at 0.560 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 1.67% to 0.590 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 rose and 9 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.32% or 0.15 to $46.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.39% or 0.19 to hit $48.91 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 5.74 to trade at $1232.64 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.55% to 4.0175.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 98.82.
