Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Transport and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.04%, while the ADX General index declined 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 10.20% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 3.51% or 0.020 points to end at 0.590 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 1.03% or 0.009 points to 0.885 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which lost 1.32% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.500 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 1.00% or 0.005 points to end at 0.497 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) shed 0.84% or 0.020 points to 2.350.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 9.29% to 2.940, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 7.40% to settle at 4.790 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 5.00% to close at 0.420.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 9.87% to 3.47 in late trade, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which lost 3.53% to settle at 0.820 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.22% to 0.8100 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 10 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.31% or 0.57 to $44.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.25% or 0.57 to hit $46.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.59% or 7.70 to trade at $1317.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.07% to 4.1008.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 95.83.
