The firm reported earnings per share of $1.23 on revenue of $5.43B. Analysts polled by Investing.com expected EPS of $1.2 on revenue of $5.43B. That compared to EPS of $0.9 on revenue of $4.86B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $1.2 on revenue of $5.24B in the previous quarter.
Visa shares gained 2.89% to trade at $137.90 in after-hours trade following the report.
For the year, Visa shares are up 16.99%, outperforming the Dow 30 which is down 0.91% year to date.
