African Explosives Zambia Plc (AEL Zambia) is a Zambia-based company .The Company is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of commercial explosives, initiating systems and blasting services for mining, quarrying and construction markets in Central Africa. Its customers include the mining and quarrying operations as well as, export markets in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi and Tanzania. It consists of 16 businesses complimented by production facilities and offices throughout Africa. The Company operates through branches located in Ghana, Mali, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Indonesia. AEL Zambia is active within mining, quarrying and construction markets in Central Africa. The Company is a subsidiary of African Explosives Limited (AEL)-South Africa, and the ultimate holding company is AECI Ltd.
