- Former House Speaker to join advisor policy council to shape crypto.
- Next year will be a significant year with Congress poised to make the CFTC the dominant regulator.
- “Crypto – Web3 – has the advantage right now of being pre-partisan,” says Poling, a partner at Harbinger Strategies.
Paul Ryan, the former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives will join the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in an endeavor to help shape the crypto policies that are emerging from Washington State.
Ryan will join the past leaders of both parties, Democratic and Republican in an advisory group formed by an investment firm, Paradigm.
Paradigm officials said that with the mid term elections in the horizon, the new elected policy council will provide internal guidance to the political arena.
Moreover, Ryan shed some light on the midterms and how they’ll impact global markets and public policy while speaking at Teneo’s Insights Series, a business analysis platform.
It was a great morning @Teneo where I joined @KevinKajiwara for a conversation about the midterms & how they’ll impact global markets and public policy. Listen to our discussion here: https://t.co/WegYyFugbX— Paul Ryan (@SpeakerRyan) October 13, 2022
More importantly, as per the Paradigm official, next year is supposed to be a significant year. With the congress poised to make a move on stablecoins along with the possibility of making the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as the dominant regulator, next year may be marked as important in the U.S. legislative calendar.
Regarding the forth coming year, Justin Slaughter, Paradigm’s policy director stated:
Next year is likely to be the big year for crypto policymaking
Additionally he instated the importance of getting an advisory group that had an especially wide range of experience in its craft.
Meanwhile, Parker Poling, a partner at Harbinger Strategies, a Federal government and political affairs firm, stated:
Crypto – Web3 – has the advantage right now of being pre-partisan
Speaking further, Poling admitted that she was no digital asset expert; however, she was no stranger to Washinton and politics. As such, she pledged to help bridge the divide on Capitol Hill, where few members understood crypto well.
