  • LG is recruiting Web3 talents to oversee the company’s expanding business.
  • The job is not remote, as the selected candidate will work from Seoul, South Korea.
  • Previously, the company filed NFT trademarks for its LG ART LAB.

LG is now hiring experienced persons for blockchain roles to manage the growing Web3 business of the corporation. According to its official website, the electronic giant is seeking chief technical officers (CTOs) in the business development and management support departments with blockchain and Web3 experience.

However, the job is not remote as the selected candidate will work from Seoul, South Korea. Furthermore, the business development officer would be responsible for piloting blockchain service, securing various partnerships related to Web3 at home and abroad, and discovering business opportunities.

Additionally, LG is also recruiting talents for metaverse roles. It includes experienced game server staff, metaverse graphic production, technical artists, and backend developers. In July this year, a registered attorney tweeted that LG filed NFT trademarks for its ART LAB.

According to the NFT application, LG intended to provide wealth management, digital token brokerage, and TV software for issuing and trading NFTs and crypto. However, LG had released many products related to the NFT sector before the application.

The company disclosed in May that it was collaborating with new media artist Refik Anadol to show NFT artwork on its transparent OLED TVs. The company mentioned that the NFT collection would use audio, video, and health information.

Samsung (KS:005930) and other South Korean electronics behemoths have also unveiled NFT-related items. Other notable applications include e-Commerce leaders eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) and Alibaba (NYSE:BABA), which aim to provide NFT exchanges, virtual goods marketplaces, and online retail stores with physical and virtual items.
