JAKARTA, April 21 (Reuters) - The Indonesian Coal Mining
Association (ICMA) expects more areas to suspend coal shipments
to the Philippines, following moves by officials in two
Indonesian regions, amid growing security concerns after a spate
of ship hijackings.
"There are probably guys still [shipping to the Philippines]
because it's hard still to control, but if it has to go through
the ports they are pretty good about it - they are just going to
say no, they are not going to go there," ICMA chairman Pandu
Sjahrir told Reuters by phone.
"We're seeing it too in our coal mine. We're not shipping
anything to the Philippines. It hasn't been cancelled but it's
been postponed because it's related to government regulation,"
said Sjahrir who is also director of Jakarta-listed miner Toba
Bara Sejahtera TOBA.JK .
"I've heard other people cancelled shipments from both
sides," he added.
