Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Oi SA (SA:OIBR4), which rose 9.06% or 0.25 points to trade at 3.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) added 6.40% or 1.07 points to end at 17.79 and Lojas Americanas SA (SA:LAME4) was up 5.23% or 0.81 points to 16.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which fell 7.96% or 0.37 points to trade at 4.28 at the close. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) declined 6.22% or 0.24 points to end at 3.62 and Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) was down 5.69% or 0.38 points to 6.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 166 to 147 and 6 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.07% to 53.68.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.44% or 4.90 to $1108.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.23% or 0.55 to hit $44.08 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.94% or 3.42 to trade at $120.05 .
USD/BRL was down 1.56% to 3.8104, while EUR/BRL fell 1.80% to 4.3140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 95.39.
