Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 4.49% or 2.02 points to trade at 47.02 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 3.01% or 0.38 points to end at 13.01 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.98% or 0.43 points to 22.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (BR:ACKB), which lost 1.36% or 1.90 points to trade at 137.40 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.33% or 1.140 points to end at 84.740 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) shed 1.20% or 0.98 points to 80.44.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 48 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.74% or 9.00 to $1231.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $71.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $80.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1590, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8806.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.69.
