Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 2.87% or 1.32 points to trade at 47.45 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 1.29% or 1.60 points to end at 125.50 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.75% or 0.17 points to 22.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.12% or 0.750 points to trade at 66.500 in late trade. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 0.48% or 0.32 points to end at 66.48 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 0.37% or 0.40 points to 108.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 50 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.48% or 5.84 to $1233.34 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.56% or 0.26 to hit $46.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.18 to trade at $48.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1474, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.94.
