Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.26% or 0.950 points to trade at 76.130 at the close. Aperam (AS:APAM) added 0.60% or 0.28 points to end at 47.63 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.53% or 0.29 points to 55.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.26% or 0.175 points to trade at 13.765 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 1.04% or 0.660 points to end at 62.770 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 0.82% or 0.300 points to 36.090.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 45 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.07% or 0.90 to $1248.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $50.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.0809, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 99.44.
