Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.57% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 1.08% or 0.35 points to trade at 32.74 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.04% or 0.14 points to end at 13.60 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.11% or 0.04 points to 42.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 4.12% or 1.490 points to trade at 34.675 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 3.99% or 2.950 points to end at 71.040 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 1.62% or 0.53 points to 31.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 46 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.06% or 13.59 to $1296.29 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.93% or 0.44 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.28 to trade at $49.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1265, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8737.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.59.
