Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 6.19% or 0.380 points to trade at 6.520 at the close. Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) added 4.95% or 1.23 points to end at 26.10 and EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA:ENBR3) was up 1.95% or 0.29 points to 15.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which lost 3.76% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.74 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4) declined 2.72% or 1.49 points to end at 53.24 and Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) shed 2.56% or 0.25 points to 9.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 221 to 93 and 35 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.31% to 35.30.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.46% or 5.75 to $1254.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.01% or 0.52 to hit $50.83 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.00% or 1.53 to trade at $150.95 .
USD/BRL was down 0.24% to 3.1979, while EUR/BRL fell 1.01% to 3.5351.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 97.68.
