NEW YORK, May 23 (Reuters) -
* The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE fell 10.99 points, or 0.07 percent, to 16,133.80.
* The biggest contributor to the TSX loss was Royal Bank of Canada RY.TO which fell 0.6 percent, or 6.56 index points. Energy was the top sector drag, weighing by 23.18 points.
* Leading the index were Alamos Gold Inc AGI.TO , up 5 percent, Eldorado Gold Corp ELD.TO , up 5 percent, and ECN Capital Corp ECN.TO , higher by 4.1 percent.
* Lagging shares were Ivanhoe Mines Ltd IVN.TO , down 4.6 percent, Teck Resources Ltd TECKb.TO , down 4.1 percent, and Lundin Mining Corp LUN.TO , lower by 4 percent.
* On the TSX 137 issues advanced and 106 declined as a 1.3-to-1 ratio favored advancers. There were 7 new highs and 1 new lows, with total volume of 194.6 million shares.
* The most heavily traded shares by volume were Aurora Cannabis Inc ACB.TO , Baytex Energy Corp BTE.TO and Canopy Growth Corp WEED.TO .
* West Texas Intermediate crude futures CLc1 fell 0.61 percent, or $0.44, to $71.76 a barrel. Brent crude LCOc1 rose 0.13 percent, or $0.10, to $79.67 O/R
* The TSX is off 0.5 percent for the year.
