TORONTO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index rose to an eight-month high on Tuesday, moving within a whisker of the record it set in February, as industrial and financial shares climbed.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 49.38 points, or 0.31 percent, at 15,905.14. Eight of the index's 10 main groups ended higher.
