Proactive Investors - Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) reported a 1% year-over-year increase in second quarter vehicle sales, led by strong truck sales.
Truck sales, including pickups and vans, were 308,920, marking a 5% gain from the year-ago quarter and Ford’s best Q2 truck sales performance since 2019.
It said it continues to have America’s best-selling pickup with its F-Series truck lineup, with sales totalling 199,463 in Q2, up 30% from the first quarter.
The company also highlighted that its electric vehicle sales increased 61% from the year-ago quarter to 23,957.
It said in the year-to-date with 44,180 vehicles sold, Ford is the number 2 EV brand in the US after Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA).
Hybrid sales were up 56% to 53,822, a quarterly record.
The company also saw a first half sales record for its Transit van.
“From the urban customer who wants the capability of a small pickup like Maverick to the businesses that rely on Transit vans to help drive the American economy, the distinctive Ford lineup is resonating with customers,” Ford Blue president Andrew Frick said in a statement.
“Hybrid and electric vehicles are driving growth, as are post-purchase experiences, like BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, the Ford Pro Intelligence software platform and remote vehicle servicing options.”
