Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.54%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA), which rose 1.11% or 0.055 points to trade at 5.016 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 0.58% or 0.65 points to end at 112.40 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was up 0.45% or 0.10 points to 21.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which lost 1.94% or 1.41 points to trade at 71.09 in late trade. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) declined 1.51% or 0.72 points to end at 46.97 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) shed 1.48% or 0.90 points to 60.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gemalto (AS:GTO) which rose 4.74% to 54.54, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was up 4.03% to settle at 7.230 and Vicat (PA:VCTP) which gained 1.82% to close at 66.50.
The worst performers were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was down 2.78% to 9.65 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which lost 2.45% to settle at 10.740 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which was down 1.94% to 71.09 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 372 to 246 and 76 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 13.96% to 23.46 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.85 to $1256.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.19% or 0.62 to hit $52.86 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.52 to trade at $55.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.0602, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8537.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.92.
