Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Construction and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Elval (AT:VAL), which rose 9.70% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) added 9.38% or 0.003 points to end at 0.035 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) was up 8.90% or 0.13 points to 1.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 16.99% or 0.09 points to trade at 0.43 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 9.74% or 0.038 points to end at 0.352 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 8.20% or 0.005 points to 0.056.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 31 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.53% or 5.80 to $1095.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.03% or 0.46 to hit $44.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.68 to trade at $48.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.0936, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.7072.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.83.
