Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Durables, Real Estate and Capital Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.22% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Indiabulls (NS:INBF), which rose 3.38% or 38.30 points to trade at 1170.15 at the close. Yes Bank Ltd. (NS:YESB) added 2.82% or 41.80 points to end at 1523.55 and Bharti Infratel Limited (NS:BHRI) was up 1.57% or 5.90 points to 382.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coal India Limited (NS:COAL), which lost 1.58% or 4.25 points to trade at 264.55 in late trade. UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) declined 1.47% or 62.45 points to end at 4178.15 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) shed 1.10% or 10.70 points to 958.75.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Auto Limited (BO:BAJA) which rose 1.92% to 2900.70, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was up 1.53% to settle at 2601.05 and Larsen & Toubro Limited (BO:LART) which gained 1.15% to close at 1804.65.
The worst performers were Coal India Limited (BO:COAL) which was down 1.67% to 264.30 in late trade, Gail (India) Ltd. (BO:GAIL) which lost 1.02% to settle at 398.20 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which was down 0.95% to 960.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 859 to 714 and 13 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1407 rose and 1231 declined, while 148 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.90% to 11.0150.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.19% or 2.46 to $1282.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $47.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.18 to trade at $49.77 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.19% to 64.380, while EUR/INR fell 0.40% to 72.3790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.85.
