Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL), which rose 2.46% or 3.46 points to trade at 143.90 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 1.20% or 0.320 points to end at 26.930 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was up 1.09% or 0.360 points to 33.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB), which lost 3.06% or 3.180 points to trade at 100.700 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 2.61% or 11.57 points to end at 431.53 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.36% or 0.85 points to 35.18.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 150 to 97 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.35% or 4.24 to $1228.44 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $47.90 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.12 to trade at $50.89 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.34% to 18.7732, while EUR/MXN rose 0.30% to 20.5211.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 99.06.
