Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.11% or 2.330 points to trade at 112.980 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 2.04% or 2.400 points to end at 120.260 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 1.38% or 1.460 points to 107.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 3.15% or 14.400 points to trade at 442.790 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 2.28% or 0.89 points to end at 38.19 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) shed 2.27% or 1.050 points to 45.290.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 78 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.35% or 4.70 to $1349.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.45% or 0.65 to hit $45.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.44% or 0.68 to trade at $47.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.74% to 18.4094, while EUR/MXN rose 0.61% to 20.6912.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 94.97.
