Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Healthcare and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 3.41% or 3.67 points to trade at 111.40 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 2.87% or 0.890 points to end at 31.850 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 2.42% or 0.720 points to 30.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 23.67% or 191.50 points to trade at 617.50 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 5.26% or 1.110 points to end at 20.010 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 3.88% or 18.15 points to 450.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 169 to 96 and 3 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1291.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.10 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.50% to 18.5883, while EUR/MXN rose 1.36% to 19.9533.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.80% at 99.40.
