Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 1.61% or 0.590 points to trade at 37.340 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 0.99% or 0.210 points to end at 21.520 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 0.89% or 0.180 points to 20.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which lost 2.55% or 1.230 points to trade at 47.100 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.22% or 1.280 points to end at 56.430 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 1.90% or 7.470 points to 386.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 107 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.53% or 6.10 to $1152.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.24% or 0.13 to hit $53.90 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.11 to trade at $56.74 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 20.7388, while EUR/MXN rose 0.31% to 21.8158.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 102.37.
