Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 1.93% or 2.170 points to trade at 114.490 at the close. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) added 1.63% or 0.180 points to end at 11.250 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 0.87% or 0.180 points to 20.870 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 4.84% or 1.200 points to trade at 23.610 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) declined 4.16% or 4.910 points to end at 112.980 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 2.45% or 5.030 points to 200.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 71 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.39% or 4.85 to $1257.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.59% or 0.80 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 0.78 to trade at $51.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.24% to 19.2828, while EUR/MXN rose 0.69% to 21.5975.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.53.
