Investing.com – Main U.S. indexes were mixed Wednesday, with strength in the Dow and weakness in the tech-heavy Nasdaq, while the S&P 500 traded flat. Averages consolidated gains after moving higher following data on consumer prices yesterday, with more inflation data on tap for later this week.

Here are some of the biggest U.S. stock movers today:

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) declined 3.6% after the stock was downgraded to 'underweight' by analysts at Wells Fargo due to concerns about growth.

Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR) declined 15% after the discount retailer reported fourth quarter EPS that misses consensus and announced plans to close some stores. The results cast doubt on its long-term EPS growth plans. Shares of peer Dollar General (NYSE:DG) were also lower.

McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) declined 2% after management made cautious comments suggesting potential for slightly lower international business sales.

Williams-Sonoma (NYSE:WSM) climbed 18% after the home goods retailer published fourth quarter earnings per share that topped estimates.

NextEra Energy (NYSE:NEE) gained 4% after it announced the Federal Election Commission notified its subsidiary Florida Power & Light Company that it voted to close its file regarding a complaint that had made allegations of certain violations of the Federal Election Campaign Act.

NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) declined 2.3% and AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) declined 4%, paring recent gains as AI-driven momentum in chip stocks cooled slightly.
