Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 5.79% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.280 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 5.00% or 0.75 points to end at 15.75 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was up 4.99% or 0.39 points to 8.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which lost 4.53% or 1.70 points to trade at 37.00 in late trade. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 3.85% or 0.020 points to end at 0.500 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) shed 3.64% or 0.020 points to 0.530.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 38 to 22 and 49 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.16% or 0.55 to $47.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.83% or 0.41 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.13% or 14.55 to trade at $1297.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.06% to 354.090, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 325.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.49.
