Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Healthcare Equipment & Services and Diversified Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which rose 9.88% or 2.4 points to trade at 26.7 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 9.60% or 1.98 points to end at 22.60 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) was up 6.19% or 1.5 points to 25.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS), which lost 5.50% or 7.6 points to trade at 130.5 in late trade. Orkla ASA (OL:ORK) declined 2.25% or 1.65 points to end at 71.65 and Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) shed 0.84% or 1.1 points to 130.1.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 52 and 21 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 5.82% or 2.17 to $39.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 5.53% or 2.18 to hit $41.61 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.50 to trade at $1242.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.93% to 9.3814, while USD/NOK fell 1.21% to 8.2213.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 94.19.
