Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Insurance and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 5.33% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.28 at the close. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) added 3.70% or 0.5 points to end at 14.0 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) was up 2.96% or 0.6 points to 20.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA), which lost 1.36% or 0.75 points to trade at 54.50 in late trade. Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) declined 1.03% or 0.1 points to end at 8.6 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) shed 0.97% or 0.30 points to 30.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 50 and 33 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.97% or 1.28 to $44.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.97% or 1.35 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.38% or 5.05 to trade at $1322.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.51% to 9.2853, while USD/NOK fell 0.14% to 8.3242.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.92.
